Camera exposure is one element a true photographer uses to create an image that tells a story.  An image needs to command a second look, to make you feel something, to make you wonder where it was taken, what happened, to make you want to know more, go there or wish you were there.  By taking creative control, the photographer can control and dictate how the image will look and feel.

Here is a great example taken by Diploma of Digital Photography student, Lynne Broughton.  Lynne was going for a minimalist look, making the jetty the singular object of attention with no distractions, not even the rippling of the water.  She had achieved this by overexposing the image.

Great job Lynne, and thank you for allowing us to share your image.
