ADVANCED PHOTOGRAPHY TECHNIQUES

One of our unique student choice elective subjects included in our online Professional Photography Course is Advanced Photography Techniques.

In this great image one of our students, Sam Cook has taken his fire-wheel activity to the next level.

There are so many great elements Sam has applied to this shoot to make this image awesome and very unique.

For starters the great location choice has provided the ideal background to set things off.  The slow shutter speed has put a beautiful creamy sheen on the surface of the water while it captured the sparks flying through the air.  The sparks can get hot, so this is definitely a beach activity.  Love the reflections.  They add that extra element to an already great scene.

Terrific job with this one Sam, and thanks for allowing us to share it with everyone.  I am pleased you had fun with it.

LIGHT PAINTING

Light painting like this great firewheel by our student Gary Nichols is a ton of fun.

Light painting photography is a very popular genre and it just looks spectacular. Here Gary has done a great example of a fire wheel.

Sometimes the hardest part of doing a fire wheel is convincing someone to help you.  Once you are good to go, you can really have some fun with this.  It is a great activity for the beach, unless you have a large back yard. Make sure to wear some jeans, long sleeves and shoes and other protective gear as you see fit as sometimes some hot sparks can hit the person doing all of the spinning.

This image was done by Student Gary Nichols as part of the Advanced Photography Techniques elective subject.  Great job Gary, and thanks for allowing us to share your image. Our student choice elective subjects in our Diploma course are extremely popular.
