RISING FROM THE ASHES
In this time of global uncertainty I think the term rising from the ashes has significant meaning.
Prior to the horrific pandemic of COVID-19, here in Australia we have had horrific droughts, bushfires and in some places floods to deal with. The recent bushfires were like nothing we have seen before and the scale was hard to reconcile.
So the name of this blog entry was inspired by the great image taken by one of our Professional Photography Course students, Rachel Parkinson. Following in ” is Rachel’s own words on what she felt while experiencing the aftermath of the fires.
“Even though the world has moved on to yet another crisis, the devastation of the fires is still so raw for so many. As we drove along Bells Line Of Road it hit us how scary it must have been, the intense heat, the height of the flames, the smell and just how much is gone. And then to see new shoots forming on the trees and grass pushing up through the ash, nature is truly amazing.”
Great description Rachel and it is a very emotive topic and your image goes a long way to explain to people the story you have described.
Thanks for sharing your great image.
