In preparing yourself to take on the world as a photographer, one must have item is your photography portfolio.
Essentially this is a collection of your best work and helps demonstrate to anyone what you have achieved and what you are capable of doing.
This wonderful waterfall image is from one of our Professional Photography Course students, Anita Morgan-Gough.
Here is what Anita said about her image – “I like this image because it’s cozy and inviting. I like the warm afternoon light on the rocks and the calmness of the water.”
This one is all about timing, camera settings and composition and it really makes the shot work.
Thanks for letting us share your great image Anita.

As part of module twelve in our Diploma course, students are tasked with compiling their photography portfolio.
This great food photography image by recent graduate Jemma Papiccio is part of her portfolio.
In module 12, students are tasked with putting together a portfolio. It is the selection of six of their most impressive images that represent the style and quality of the student’s work. The job of your portfolio is to get you work. The images need to be impressive. They need to be outstanding. There needs to be something special about the images you choose that will make potential clients “choose you”.
This food photography image entitled “Moody Spice” blended nicely with five other outstanding images making up Jemma Papiccio’s photography portfolio.
“The Moody Spice image is just that, its moody and dark and I really like it. The spices bring colour and texture to a very dark scene. I had one light up high, on the right side, for shadows that help give the image more texture on the spices and slate plate. The pop of bright red in the chillies and peppercorns really wow the image. I like the veins in the bay leaf and the garlic looking like a flower. The spoons help give the image depth.” M, 90mm Macro, f/6.3, 0.3 sec, ISO 200.
Well done Jemma and thanks for allowing us to share your image.
